Ecstatic Dance is an exploration of the Self, through music and movement, within the greater container of kinship and community! This is a practice of deep listening to your inner knowing, leading yourself through free-form “dance,” to an eclectic mix of music from various genres, eras and places all around the world!

You are invited to use the music as a tool to let go and freely express your emotions ….. no matter what they are, love or sorrow, anger or bliss, sadness or happiness, just let everything out. The “ecstacy” of these dances comes through completely letting go and uninhibitedly being yourself! This is medicine.

The Spirit of Cacao will play an important role in this vibrational voyage. She’ll assist us in opening our hearts, connecting to each other and our higher selves, and in finding a profound level of awareness, creativity and healing.

Your Guide: Mathew Sun is a music+movement journeyman who strives to offer vibes where healing spaces amidst a safe communal container are as integral to the Ecstatic Dances experience as is the vibrational medicine itself. Bringing together an eclectic mix of genres from around the world, we get down with the get-down to tunes with an emphasis on tribal-beats, remixed medicine and rainbow music, antique classics, new-age funk, latin, african, hip-hop and more, in a 5-elements/5-rhythms multi-instrumental mix with minimal electronic overtone. He has hand-selected each of these gems which piece together your evening journey in a way that will reach deep to your ancient soul and have you feel heart-open, deeply held and yet totally hyped, in the rise and fall of the wave. ✨

What to expect?
• Opening circle and cacao blessing (Please be on time ❤️)
• Warm-up and embodiment practices
• 90 minutes of "5-rhythms" style ecstatic dance
• Integrate the dance in a relaxing sound healing
• Aside from the Cacao, this is a substance-free event!
• The energy exchange for the dance is $20

Dance/Space Guidelines
The following guidelines are typical of those followed at hundreds of conscious dances around the world, having been developed through community discussions and agreements over decades.
⏩ Please note: This is a Safe and Sacred Space - drug, smoking & alcohol-free!
⏩ Be mindful of others' personal boundaries. Move freely in all directions/ respect all dance forms and the people around.
⏩ It's a Non-verbal journey / with no mobile phones.
⏩ We will remind everybody to respect each other space and ask consent (using body language) to dance with others.
⏩ Be clean. Please arrive fresh with a clean body and clothes, as some of us are sensitive to any scented products (including essential oils) or strong body odors.
⏩ Be curious, open, and accepting. Please suspend judgments of self or others.
⏩ Please bring a refillable water bottle, there is free water.
