Join us at AKI KIN on Sunday, July 6th, for a morning of creation and connection.
We'll begin by communing with Ecuadorian ancestral Cacao-honored for thousands of years in Indigenous traditions as a powerful plant medicine that opens the heart and reconnects us with the natural world and our inner knowing.
Birds are considered the messengers between Heart of the Sky and Heart of the Earth. You will have the opportunity to choose a feather of your choice (goose, duck, turkey) and create a your own, unique prayer feather. Various stones and beads will be provided to adorn your feather.
Children are welcome if a space is purchased.

My name is Kristen Arambula Hernandez. My Anishinaabe name is Idwegishgokwe - Both Sides of the Sky Woman. I am a Potawatomi woman enrolled with the Citizen Potawatomi Nation. My clan is Thunderbird.
Kristen is a mother to three and an advocate for preserving and reclaiming ancestral, traditional ecological and star knowledge. She has been drumming with her tribe’s all women’s drum group, De’Wegen Kwek, for over eleven years and is also trained as an Indigenous Breastfeeding Counselor, birth doula and Cacao ceremonialist. She is the founder of AKI KIN in Norman, OK - a collaborative space where she blends her Anishnaabe and Mexican lineages in bi-monthly circles she holds for the community.
